November 24th

  • EpicDuel Gamma Evolution 1.1.2 includes:
    • The holidays are almost upon us and to celebrate, we are gradually reintroducing our holiday rares from last year, starting with, you guessed it -- FROSTBANE!
    • Frostbane Returns!!!
      • The devastating, legendary sword Frostbane is returning to EpicDuel and it's better than ever! Immediately after the release goes live, those who purchase the 10,000 varium package will receive the coveted blade for a limited time! Let us know if you purchased the package today before the update and we'll award you the sword as soon as possible!
    • Armor Enhancements!
      • Finally bring back those dusty old armors from storage and give them a much-needed boost with armor enhancements! Founders will be rewarded by receiving 10 enhancement slots for their legendary armor. More than any in the game! Enhancing armors works just like weapons, so be sure to stop by one of the available Item Enhancing NPCs (Titan, Nightwraith, Mirv, Valery, Ulysses) to buff your weapons and armors!
    • Become a Warlord!
      • As a follow up to last weeks release, we have introduced a Daily War Kill leaderboard! We were honestly quite surprised that the Faction HQ weapons became so popular, so we felt it was only right to reward those who contributed so heavily to their chosen alignments with an achievement for the daily winners! We will also be awarding the Warlord achievement (1625 points) to those on the All-time board at the time of the release to reward those who made this such a successful feature!
    • One Year Anniversary!
      • A year ago at this time, Titan and I were in the underground lab working on the merger with Artix Entertainment, and it's been a wild ride ever since! Without them, the game you see today would not have been possible, so to celebrate, we're offering a "Year of the Dragon" achievement for purchasing ANY varium package after the update goes live. This achievement will be available for a limited time to commemorate the anniversary, so grab it while you can!
    • New Features!
      • Frostbane returns! Free with purchase of the 10k varium package or from Titan and Nightwraith in Central Station.
      • Increased enhancement slots on Frostbane!
      • Armor enhancements! Add stat points to your armor! Founder armor receives 10 slots!
      • All primary weapons receive an additional 2 available enhancement slots!
      • New Daily War Kill leaderboard tracks emplacement kills for each player!

November 19th

  • EpicDuel Gamma Evolution 1.1.1e includes:
    • For our next super-size release, we will be adding some much needed improvements to the Daily Faction Battle, bringing life to NPCs with NPC chat, a tutorial battle mode, and more!
    • New Features!
      • Faction HQ Battlements! Earn weapon emplacements for your Faction HQ to turn the tide of the War!
      • New Legion or Exile logos appear next to character names to identify alignment
      • NPC Chat for several popular NPCs
      • Tutorial mode introduces all new players to the battle engine immediately
      • New War Events display shows the major events of the Daily War, including emplacement attacks!
      • War Kill leaderboard tracks emplacement kills for each player
      • New Artillery Master achievement for those who achieve 1000 War Kills!
    • Balance Adjustments
      • Reinforcements are slowly reduced as the underdog alignment wins instead of dispersing all at once.
      • Reduce block rate base by 5% and block rate max by 5%
      • Increased Alignment reinforcements to from 33% to 50% of previous day's victory difference
    • Bug Fixes!
      • Empty inventory prevents players from logging in
      • Fixed flag logic ... now awards influence, then applies tax
      • Increase the size of the name field in my vitals

November 6th

  • EpicDuel Gamma Evolution 1.1.1d includes:
    • Last week we introduced the Daily Faction War to enhance the Faction War. This week we will be adding a few measures to balance the War along with some fun.
    • New Features!
    • Faction War Adjustments!
      • Daily War balance! The losing alignment will receive a % in the difference between Exile and Legion victories for the next day as reinforcements!
      • A small base tax will be applied at all Factions on the losing side. This will be done to eventually negate the influence of inactive Factions.
      • Keep the ideas coming. The Daily War is an exciting concept, but we want it to be fun and fair for both sides.

      • -1 days active error in Faction manager

October 29th

  • EpicDuel Gamma Evolution 1.1.1c includes:
    • As part 3 of our 3 part Hallow-Moglo-Spookyween release, we are excited to introduce a killer new feature we hope will add some intensity to the EpicDuel: Daily Faction Wars! Players will see a running count of the total victories for both alignments at the top of the game window. All factions participating in the war for the winning alignment will receive a victory for the day. Victories will be associated with new Faction ranks, allowing active Factions to "level up".

      • New armors based on in-game NPCs!
      • New Daily Faction War!
      • New Faction Ranks!
    • Faction War Adjustments!
    • Faction Improvements!
      • Activity tracking now tells members when others last logged in
      • Inactive founders can be demoted by highest token contributor in the faction
      • Active founders may "step down" buy promoting an officer to founder status
      • If a player leaves on their own, the faction is no longer penalized for the departure
      • 50% discount in penalty if booting an inactive player
    • Bug Fixes!
      • Credits now update correctly when purchasing through the in-game payment module.

October 22nd

  • EpicDuel Gamma Evolution 1.1.1b includes:
    • Around this time every year, the citizens of Delta V celebrate a time a year on the old Earth when vegetables were carved into faces, and children dressed like goblins and ghouls. Candy was also involved. Since Delta V is a tough planet facing tough times, the current traditional celebration involves the creation of brutally devastating weapons and an escalation of the ongoing war between the fearsome Legion and the noble Exiles. Join us as we work toward building the excitement and reward to the Faction Wars with what is essentially part 2 of our 3 part Hallow-Moglo-Spookytimeween celebration!
    • New Features!
      • 3 New spooky styles for each class
      • 3 New guns
      • 4 New Faction Leaderboards: All-time 1v1, 2v2, World Domination and Flag Captures
      • Bug fixes
      • If a player wins an Arcade jackpot, but already owns the item, they receive 10k credits!
      • Hoverbike sellback
      • Basic weapon sell back starting at level 15! Get rid of those pesky starter weapons after a Class Change
      • More arcade pods will be distributed around the map
    • Balance Adjustments!
      • BASE crit % reduced from 4% to 2% chance
      • Crit Max % reduced from 15% to 13%
      • Each increased Crit % requires 1 additional point of Support (increased to 7 up from 6)

      • Fixing an issue that can cause players to match into unfair battles
      • Improvements to home items, making items easier to click and move, possibly allow for horizontal flipping of home items

October 15th

  • EpicDuel Gamma Evolution 1.1.1a includes:
    • Gamma Evolution 1.1.1 is still fresh and we're already working hard on this week's release for (hopefully) Friday.

      • Support for wall mounted home items

      • NEW Battle Boost gives 3X Battle Tokens!!!!
      • New home-based transportation system (use the map jump to a specific area if you own a home in the region)

October 8th

  • EpicDuel Gamma Evolution 1.1.1 includes:
    • Housing Items Are Here!
      • If you didn't have enough reason to purchase a house before, you do now! Players now have access to an awesome assortment of items to customize the look of their personal dwellings! All items in this release will be credit-only! Plus, we have been discussing a home decorating contest after more items are released, with the winners receiving amazing prizes (that we haven't decided on yet!). Wall items will be introduced time-permitting
    • Balance Improvements
      • Due to popular player demand, we've modified the Agility table to take effect at a higher Health tiers than before.

      • Admin Kick Errors 100, 101 and 115 now fixed!
      • Skill rollovers now support three digit numbers

September 16th

  • EpicDuel Gamma Evolution 1.1.0d includes:
    • Become a Landlord!
      • As more and more Exiles flood to Delta V, property is in ever-increasing demand. In preparation for exciting new housing items, we are adding 2 awesome new homes! To reward enterprising real estate tycoons, we are offering the Landlord achievement to anyone who purchases 4 or more homes!
    • New Payment Interface!
      • This may or may not be exciting to you, but it will allow players to refill Varium with Battleon points in-game! Buying Varium has never been easier!
    • Balance Improvements
      • It has been clear for some time now that EpicDuel was in dire need of a balance update. Thus after scouring the forums and discussing amongst our devvie selve, we have introduced a new balance stat, Agility, which is in many ways the "yin" to Focus' "yang". Agility will specifically address high health builds, penalizing players who invest too heavily in health points. Low agility will result in overall decreased defenses. The reasoning behind this is that as you add health points, your character becomes "clunkier" and less able to defend against attacks. The numbers we are using to determine Agility are mostly experimental, so if you feel they can be readjusted to accomplish the same ends, please let us know. The ongoing quest to find perfect balance in EpicDuel's three classes never over!

September 8th

  • EpicDuel Gamma Evolution 1.1.0c includes:
    • DragonCon and Back-to-School!
    • It's that time of year again--Time for many students to return to their institutions of learning, and also time for that mythical event known as DragonCon. As our first DragonCon, Titan and I were completely blown away by the scale of the convention. Interacting with players IRL, meeting celebrities and artists, and generally having fun time at the con inspired us to create a set of elite Dragon Weapons to commemorate the experience. This set of powerful weapons also comes with a Dragon Master achievement, attainable by purchasing any of the Dragon Weapons. We have also introduced a few school supply-themed items: The Graphite Gun, Backpackzooka, and Experiment 2B. Why bash someone over the head with a giant pencil? Because you can! All of these exciting, powerful rares will be available from Titan in Central Station. His existing supply of weapons has be relocated to Workerbot X9, just outside of Fortune City. Remember, the Gamma Bot and Gamma Bike are still available, so grab them while you can!

      • Bot base damaged increased, while scale factor with focus decreased by one point per point of focus

      • FIXED - Gamma Bot bug that could cause HP to display incorrectly
      • FIXED - Multiple causes of unexpected disconnects
      • FIXED - Mutliple causes of 0 health and "zombie" bugs
      • FIXED - Duplicate PM bug
      • FIXED - Many more battle exploits fixed!

August 26th

  • EpicDuel Gamma Evolution 1.1.0b includes:
    • Greetings EpicDuelists and welcome to the West Naval Yard. This hulking shipyard once housed the pride of Baelius' navy, but years of war have left it barren and, thanks to constantly leaking ship reactors, extremely dangerous. Only a brave and crazy few choose to reside here: one such resident is someone you may already be familiar with, Isla Grier aka "Big Tuna". Anticipating the arrival of many battle-hungry warriors, she has set up shop with a few armors of her own design, along with some speedy, maritime hoverbikes to make travel a bit easier. She's even offering her custom hoverbike, "Tuna Express" for a limited time! If you're feeling lucky, you can challenge Tuna to the duel of your life for a special Achievement!
    • If that weren't enough, a new Faction War Flag will be available in the middle of the Naval Yard. Watch out! It's defended by the fierce Gamma Guard. Do you think you have what it takes to defeat him?
    • Meanwhile, in Fortune City, Valery is now available to challenge as a level 29 NPC!
    • You can find the Naval Yard by visiting the now available Gate 5 from Central Station. You may know it as the screen with Oz. If you see the gate still closed, please clear your cache and refresh your browser, the magic solution to all your Flash problems.
    • Gameplay Improvements
      • West Naval Yard opened with a new Naval Yard battle screen!
      • 6 Powerful new armors!
      • 4 Slick new hoverbikes, including Big Tuna's personal transport!
      • Challenge and defeat Big Tuna for a rare achievement
      • New level 32 NPC: Gamma Guard!
      • Valery is now a challengeable NPC

August 13th

  • EpicDuel Gamma Evolution 1.1.0a includes:
    • Gameplay Improvements
      • Max rating point stars increased from 5 to 6.
      • Beta Blaster and Beta Bazooka improved +1 damage and +2 stats.
      • Negative stats removed! It was an interesting idea at the time, but not really that effective.
      • NPC AI streamlined
      • Item code streamlined (there are over 700 items in EpicDuel, so it was about time!)
      • Performance slider improved (even faster battles!)
    • Bug Fixes!
      • FIXED - Autoban bug that was banning people for no reason!
      • FIXED - Stun bug fixed!
      • FIXED - At least one cause of the turn-skip bug
