July 20^th

• EpicDuel Beta Evolution 1.0.9d includes:
  • EpicDuel stability and performance patch!
    • After a hard-fought battle with the very program we use to play EpicDuel, FlashPlayer, we are happy to announce the release of Beta Evolution 1.0.9.d, (barring any unforeseen problems) the last patch before Gamma. In addition to addressing many know bugs introduced by the new FlashPlayer, this patch also has the added bonus of speeding up animation for players with slower machines. This is especially helpful in 2v2 games which feature intense graphics and tons of animation. This slider is accessible with the Setting button (small gear in the top right corner of the game screen). For added convenience, the button is also available in all battle modes!

June 17^th

• EpicDuel Beta Evolution 1.0.9b includes:
  • Name Change!!!
    • A popular request since the beginning of EpicDuel, we are finally offering character name change! Remember, any name you choose, including your original, will be reserved for YOU, so nobody else can ever take them!
  • New Achievements!
    • For purchasing a new identity, players will be rewarded with the Master of Disguise achievement, worth 1450 rating points! Also, in honor of the World Cup, we are also offering, for a limited time, a World Cup achievement worth 1500 rating points. This can be collected from any Achievement vendor across Delta V!
  • New Battle Screens!
    • Some of the most commonly seen graphics in the game, and also some of the oldest, the battle backgrounds have received an overhaul. We have also added three new backgrounds based on familiar locations around Delta V.
  • Bug Fixes!
    • FIXED - Double debuffs.
    • FIXED - Hacking rating stars.
    • FIXED - Defeat screen at battle start
  • Duel to popular demand, we are extending the Marauder Bike promotion for another week! If you didn't already know, you will receive this bike as a FREE GIFT for purchasing varium in EpicDuel! Players who purchase ANY AMOUNT of varium from the time of the update to the end of the promotion will receive this terrifyingly awesome vehicle for free! This is also the first bike to have SIX customizable colors! That's more than most armors! It will also be available for purchase from the Overlord Guard for a limited time. Better hurry, because one the promotion is over, the bike will be gone forever!
  • We understand that these updates have been pretty Varium heavy, but don't worry free players -- We have big plans for future updates to include some credit-only armors, weapons, and even bots! Maybe we'll even throw something special and powerful into the arcade for those completely strapped for credits. Anything can happen!

June 12^th

• EpicDuel Beta Evolution 1.0.9a includes:
  • We experimented with grenades in the battle engine and found that they were either not useful or seriously broke the game's balance, however, we were able to use recycle some of that code and combine it with our skill perk concept to produce:
    • ROBOTS!!!
      • These feisty androids can wreak havoc on your opponents by delivering a standard attack or a special skill. These bots are designed to serve players at all levels, as their damage scales with Technology and Focus as a player levels up. The special skills will be unlike anything currently available, making for some truly interesting builds and dynamically changing dueling tactics. The first prototype robot will be available from the Overlord Guard at the Overlord Facility, Mirv in the Barrens, Talia in Fortune City, Ulysses in the Wasteland, and Xraal in the Bio Dome. We are very excited about this feature as it introduces nearly limitless possibilities for new skill and battle strategy! Plus, in the future you may be able to place one of these guys to guard your house!
  • New Weapons!
    • The Overlord Guards have been sitting on a stockpile of incredible military hardware, and now after witnessing your prowess in battle, they are willing to offer it for sale. We have been listening to players regarding weapons needed for certain classes at different levels, and hopefully your pleas will finally be answered!
  • New Styles!
    • We will be rounding out the update with all-new styles for all classes and genders. Visit Steve 1.0 in Central Station or Steve 2.0 in Fortune City to check them out!
  • Remember, we are still offering the awesome RARE Marauder bike as a FREE GIFT for purchasing varium in EpicDuel, beginning with tonight's release!   • The Overlord Facility Continued...
    • Many of you have already seen the intimidating Overlord Guards who patrol the Overlord Facility. Now they're willing to spar with any player ready to challenge them. Defeat an Overlord Guard to receive the special Overlord's Helmet achievement (1350 Rating Points)!
  • New Bikes!
    • Without a Commanding Officer to monitor their actions, the Overlord Guards have decided to sell some surplus military hardware to line their pockets. Due to popular demand, the guards will be offering new bikes within their military compound.
  • New Weapons!
    • The Overlord Guards have been sitting on a stockpile of incredible military hardware, and now after witnessing your prowess in battle, they are willing to offer it for sale.   • FIXED - Exploit to purchase weapons that are no longer available for sale.
  • FIXED - Invulnerability exploit.
  • FIXED - Exploit that allowed players to challenge NPCs beyond the 5 level range.
  • FIXED - Varium was visually not reducing in your inventory when you purchased certain items.
  • Improved the speed that merchant stores access inventory and open!
  • Improved stability during battle creation and character creation to prevent server hangs.
  • Interface improvements (I missed a few places where the "spacebar" exploit was still available).

May 21^st

• EpicDuel Beta Evolution 1.0.8e includes:
  • The Overlord Facility Revealed!!!
    • Venture into the Overlord Facility and uncover its dark secrets! Be sure to pack an arsenal, because you'll have these guys waiting for you at the gate!
  • New Bikes!
    • A least two slick new rides will be available from withing the facility's electrified gates!
  • Class change?
    • We still have some issues to figure out, but, time permitting, we want to implement this much-requested feature for the next update!

  • Challenge Hank!
    • Try your hand at everyone's favorite surly ex-city guard: Hank! Defeat him to win the Hank's Leg achievement!
  • New Weapons!
    • Grab the latest batch of high-level bazookas from Hank to devastate your enemies!
  • New Bike!
    • Buy the sleek and sinister Cyberbike from the Fortune City Bike vendor!
  • Rixty Weapons Go RARE!
    • Rixty weapons will go rare after this update, meaning they're gone for good! Congrats to all those who now have this powerful, unique weapon!

April 24^th

• EpicDuel Beta Evolution 1.0.8c includes:
  • Faster, more secure, and more streamlined initial login
  • Fixed a bug where players would hang at the server selection screen after selecting a server to login to
  • The NEW Focus stat now goes up in real-time during the level up process to better reflect it's relationship to your other stats!
  • Addressed an exploit that allowed players to pull other players into battle without accepting a challenge
  • Addressed an exploit that allowed players to bypass the NPC battle restrictions and run restrictions
  • Reduced the frequency of encountering the Captcha
  • Automatically disconnect players that answer the Captcha wrong multiple times
  • Improvements during creation of new characters and new factions
  • Addressed the zero health bug reported in the forums
  • Updated the purchase Varium links to direct to the new Varium store (the new BattleOn Points system)
  • Fixed a bug where players would see, "Please wait before viewing this flag again" when they hadn't clicked on the faction flag multiple times
  • Addressed an exploit where players could join your faction without your faction's permission!
  • Addressed an exploit where players could add themselves to your Buddy list or send you PMs without your permission
  • Improved the Battle Captcha and randomized the position of your skill icons each turn to defeat bots
  • Addressed an exploit where players could bypass the skill requirements of a skill to use it anyway
  • Balance Improvements! Several skills are being reworked to make them more useful.

  • Improved Battle Captcha to thwart those pesky botters!
  • Numerous bug fixes and security patches.
  • We wanted to have more NEW for this update, but the security and stability of EpicDuel must take priority before get to the really fun stuff. Most people won't notice the dramatic changes to the battle engine or the added security, but Titan has really been on a roll this week rewriting and updating nearly every feature in the game to make EpicDuel safe, fair, and fun for everyone!

April 16^th

• EpicDuel Beta Evolution 1.0.8b includes:
  • NEW STAT! Focus improves damage for all attacks through an even distribution of stat points.
  • Rixty Revamp! Rixty weapons become more powerful, while Nightwraith, Titan, and Caden slash their prices!
  • Expanded BioDome! Face-off against the vicious Electro Hazard!
  • Improved Mod tools for enhanced security!

April 10^th

• EpicDuel Beta Evolution 1.0.8a includes:
  • XP BOOST! Get XP Boost from Vendbots across Delta V and double your XP!
  • First level 31 weapons introduced! The Rixty Rippers! Redeem a Rixty code starting April 12th to get the complete set!
  • Nightwraith and Titan will remain for another week to sell their rare weapons
  • Although the AE Card Bunnyzooka promotion will be ending tonight, the Bunnyzookas will remain for sale in-game for one more week!

March 25^th

  • Spring Promotion! Use an AE card for EpicDuel between March 26 and April 11th and receive the devastating seasonal rares: the Bunnyzookas! This package includes FOUR auxiliary items! The Bunnyzooka and Energy Bunnyzooka for high (30) and low (15) levels!
  • FIXED - Achievements on multiple pages would not calculate towards total Player Rating

March 10^th

  • Player Ratings! Players will now have a star rating based on collected achievements!

February 26^th

• EpicDuel Beta Evolution 1.0.7b includes:
  • Valestra's Arcade Open for Business!
  • Use Battle Tokens to participate in a new battle mode with a chance to win HUGE credit bonuses or A COLOR CUSTOMIZABLE HOVERBIKE!
  • This feature will make it much easier for us to build a system in which players can earn "drops" from battle victories!
  • Hoverbikes move much faster than walking speed, and will eventually have the ability to "jump to" certain locations in future releases.
  • Brand new high and low level armors! Assassin Armor (Bounty Hunters), Iron Hulk (Mercenaries), and Cybermancer (Tech Mages)! Stop by the customizer bots to check them out!
  • FIXED - Language exploit that allowed players to curse using a sequence of characters
  • FIXED - Several minor tweaks, fixes, and improvements

February 19^th

• EpicDuel Beta Evolution 1.0.7a includes:
  • FACTION WARS CONTINUED! With this update we are introducing three more capture points.
  • Improved Faction chat! See who's online and who's not in your Faction.
  • Hourly tax will be increased to 25 Battle Tokens on each capture point for the top 3 flag controllers.
  • Battle Boosters! Double your Battle Tokens for a limited time with these booster available from all VendBots across Delta V.
  • 30 New Styles! Change your look with 5 new styles per gender per class.
  • Battle Captcha added to prevent botting.
  • Greatly reduced data sent for each player entering the screen
  • FIXED - Style change glitch in which other players failed to see style change updates

February 12^th

• EpicDuel Beta Evolution 1.0.7 includes:
  • FACTION WARS! Faction members can scour Delta V looking for valuable capture points to earn achievements and potent influence bonuses.
  • New personal achievements for flag captures and world domination.
  • There are 8 faction flags available to be controlled!
  • Faction Influence has been reduced to 5 points per battle Victory.
  • Factions that hold each flag will receive a 200 point Influence bonus for every hour they hold it.
  • Celebrate Valentine's Day EpicDuel style with 16 new RARE Heartbreaker weapons! (Valestra and Caden)

• EpicDuel Beta Evolution 1.0.6d includes:
  • Due to popular request, we have introduced the ability to PM anyone within the same faction! This should make coordinating strategies for Faction Wars much easier!
  • Tighter chat filters to prevent players from revealing account information or accidentally refreshing the browser (F5)
  • FIXED - Leaderboard duplicates in the 3rd and 4th slot
  • FIXED - If character changes style while another user is watching menu, it doesn't update

February 5^th

• EpicDuel Beta Evolution 1.0.6c includes:
  • Battle Incentives! Players will now earn Battle Tokens for each victory, which will be redeemable for over 30 new Achievement badges at certain NPCs (Valestra, The Lawman, and Kraggor)
  • Battle tokens will lay the foundation for some very exciting features coming over the next few updates
  • New Achievements button added. See your current achievements bigger and better than ever and acquire new achievements with battle tokens!
  • Beta Badge released! Visit one of the Achievement vendors mentioned above to receive your Beta Badge free of charge! Once Beta is over, it's gone for good!
  • New Super Bowl hairstyles!
  • Lower level Founder armor can now be sold back to free up inventory space

• EpicDuel Beta Evolution 1.0.5e includes:
  • Over 20 New Weapons!
  • New in-game moderator features - introducing temp bans, chat block, warnings, and more!
  • Improved system security during battle
  • Significant performance improvements during battle (less lag!!!)
  • NPC AI speed improvements (they think faster!)
  • The chat log no longer scrolls to the bottom when a new message is added
  • FIXED - Battles that "Fail to Start" no longer count as runs or losses in your battle record
  • FIXED - Eliminated battle hang issues related to AOE attacks when targets disconnect or leave battle

• Get the epic rare Founder's Duel Master Armor now!
